Does CashMate link to my bank account?
No. CashMate does not use Plaid, Teller, or any bank-linking aggregator. Transactions are entered manually or imported from CSV. This is a deliberate choice: it keeps your bank credentials out of our hands and keeps your data fully under your control.
What currencies does CashMate support?
You can create accounts in any ISO-4217 currency. CashMate groups your net worth by currency rather than converting everything into one base — you see what you actually hold, not a synthetic total. Live gold and silver prices are shown in PKR initially, with more currencies coming.
Which Zakat madhabs does the calculator support?
CashMate supports all four Sunni madhabs — Hanafi, Maliki, Shafi’i, and Hanbali. Madhab choice affects how gold jewelry and certain debts are treated. You can also choose the Nisab standard (silver is recommended for a lower, more inclusive threshold; gold is more conservative).
Is CashMate free?
Yes. CashMate is free during beta with no feature limits, no credit card required, and no trial timer. Paid tiers may arrive later for advanced features, but the core experience will remain free.
How is my data stored and secured?
CashMate runs on Supabase with Row Level Security (RLS) enforced on every table. Your data is isolated by user account at the database level. Passwords are hashed, traffic is TLS-encrypted, and we do not share or sell transaction data to third parties.
Can I delete my account and my data?
Yes. You can delete your account from Settings at any time. Deletion removes all your transactions, accounts, budgets, and Zakat snapshots. You can also export your data as CSV before deleting.
Is there a mobile app?
CashMate is a Progressive Web App (PWA) — you install it directly from your browser. It works offline, syncs when you reconnect, and appears on your phone or desktop like a native app without the App Store approval cycle.
What makes CashMate different from Mint, YNAB, or Monarch?
Three things. First, a real Zakat engine with Madhab awareness that no other mainstream finance app offers. Second, no bank-linking — your data stays fully yours. Does CashMate use AI?
CashMate uses AI-assisted transaction categorization that you can accept, reject, or override. The AI is an assistant, not an autonomous agent — you always see and control what gets tagged. We do not use your transaction data to train models sold to other companies.
